That's right, James Burton has agreed to lay down some guitar work on the new Mick Gerace album, in production now.
A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2001 (his induction speech was given by longtime fan Keith Richards), Burton's pioneering contributions have also been recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Critic Mark Demming writes that "Burton has a well-deserved reputation as one of the finest guitar pickers in either country or rock ... [Burton is] one of the best guitars players to ever touch a fretboard".
Since the 1950s, Burton has recorded and performed with an array of notable singers, including Rick Nelson, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dale Hawkins, John Denver and Elvis Costello.
Shaping up to be huge... Stay tuned for the full list of artists playing on the album.

As you can see the art work is set and the web site is up running. Mick, the girls and the band are currently holed up in some tucked away, dark and dingy studio putting some new tracks together for the album as we type. Shit, he wont even tell us where they are. If you're reading this Mick I need my truck back!

The Sweet Inspirations were originally formed in the early sixties by Cissy Houston-Whitney Houston's mum and Dionne Warwick's auntie. As well as being Elvis's warm up band and backing singers, the girls have also sung with such greats as Wilson Picket, Aretha Franklin and Van Morrison, providing the backing vocals on Brown Eyed Girl. Stars in their own right the girls have also had numerous hits and albums of their own along the way.
The Sweet Inspirations vocals help give Mick's single 'Feeling In My Body' and the rest of the new album, a raw undeniably authentic feel.
